I suspect the awkward area beyond the giant beam running across the front of this store was added on at some point, though it doesn't seem to be used for much these days -- just a Starbucks kiosk and the customer service counter (which is itself pretty strange, but we'll get back to that later) on this side of the entrance. The wall-to-wall windows are pretty nice, and definitely make me think that if this was an addition, it must have been built pretty early in this store's life.
