But this store instead has that around the corner on the side wall (despite the aisle marker claiming the wall is actually home to "beer and wine"!). It was all but impossible to get a picture of this department, thanks to that aisle marker along with the tall soda display!

Ha, the beer and meat aisle! Here in Texas, and probably in most places, this would be the #1 aisle even if it wasn't numbered that way like it is here! Of course, because of that, most stores try to put a little distance between the two, but I guess there are fewer options at older, smaller stores.

I guess it was so expected that I forgot to mention it yesterday, but now we officially know the FTC's position on the Krogertsons merger and now matters are in the hands of a federal court in Oregon and a judge from the Portland area whose law degree is from the University of Texas. We'll see what happens!

Oh, in other news, an Albertsons in the Dallas area was rebannered to Tom Thumb and was given Pavilions decor! The strange decor from the Southern Division continues! And you thought the Colorful Lifestyle v2-Modern mashup was strange! Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QEgTtQm9PiXmJuEH6

    2. Yeah, it's a little odd to see liquor and meat sharing the same aisle -- Grocery Palace put the two departments close together, though!

Yeah, I don't think anyone (at least in the western part of the country) is surprised by that. I'm glad that it was sent to a west coast judge, and Oregon in particular has been hit hard by both Albertsons-Safeway and Fred Meyer-Kroger in years past.

I'm certainly not going to complain about Ultra-Premium continuing to spread, though it does look a little odd in that picture with that Ultra Non-Premium Albertsons lighting! 😉
