I'm not sure if the generic register lights in this store are original or not -- I generally associate that design with the Supervalu PF&H era, but I'm not sure when Albertsons started using them. The express lane plaques certainly seem to be from that era, but at least the other lanes have recent ads, unlike at the handful of stores in the northwest that still have these signs.
Are those Sincerely signs in those register lights? If so, this store certainly didn't miss too many opportunities to push those Sincerely ads!
ReplyDeleteI suppose this Albertsons isn't too committed to keeping multiple manned registers open. Granted, it appears there wasn't much demand here at the time for more than one register. I will say that Kroger has been a bit better around here at manning the manned registers. They've had three open lanes the last few times I've been there.
Kind of -- they're using the Sincerely graphic design, but not the actual Sincerely tagline. This picture has a better view -- they seem to have been advertising For U and/or Fresh Pass.
DeleteIt's even worse than most of the Albertsons or Kroger-owned stores we complain about -- this one only had one regular register open despite not having ever gotten self checkouts! I had to wait in line for quite some time because the people in front of me were taking forever, and it reminded me why I don't like to shop at stores without self checkout.
