One last thing to mention before finally moving on from this side of the store -- the lighting here is quite unusual, with short segments of LED tubes in a somewhat scattered pattern. I've seen vaguely similar things in other stores (Target and Walmart, specifically), but never at Safeway or Albertsons! The fact that it is LED implies that it's too new to be a weird Albertsons leftover, so maybe this was an experimental thing while Safeway was looking to get rid of the decorative lighting most Lifestyle stores got... who knows.
