No, I'm not talking about the weird duct thing (but it does look weird!) -- I'm talking about the leftover structure from the original Grocery Palace wavy soffit! I've never seen this (at least not this prominently) in any other remodeled Grocery Palace store I've visited. I guess that's just another sign of them doing this remodel relatively quickly and cheaply -- they probably didn't want to reroute all those pipes that appear to be at least partially supported by the structure, so they just left it in place.
