The diamond shapes, decorative columns, and oversized soffits on the mini-mall are an unmistakably mid-century California design, not far removed from the famous Googie architecture of the 40s and 50s. The palm trees obviously add to the California aesthetic! This is another experiment of mine with the wide-angle feature of my phone; you can see the columns better in the normal version below.
