The whole point of having a vestibule is to save on heating (and cooling, if you're in most other parts of the country 😉) costs, but that all goes out the window when you put a giant garage door between the vestibule and the store itself and leave it open! I know the weather looked pretty nice in my exterior photos, but I visited this store in January 2022 so I'm sure it was rather chilly! (I love those cold winter days...)
Yikes, I know that stores keep getting more and more industrial looking, but I didn't realize we're at a point where major supermarkets are using garage doors! What a bizarre thing, I can't imagine they would do something like that here. Granted, there are ways for stores to control the temperature and humidity without a vestibule, but still.
ReplyDeleteBetween what I see here and in the other photos, I think I'm going to hate this store, but that's probably not a big surprise to anyone, lol!
As an aside, Blogger is seriously messed up here lately! Sometimes I have to press the publish button 5-10 times before it'll actually post without an error. It's not just a problem on this blog, I've seen it on Retail Retell's blog as well. I thought the new comment box solved some of the previous problems, but I guess not.
I think they were going for a similar style to the door-less Haggen stores we've seen previously, but with the ability to close them when the weather isn't ideal.
DeleteThat being said, I knew you weren't going to like much of anything here, and there isn't anything I can say to change your mind on that!
Hmm, that's annoying. It hasn't been giving me too much trouble lately...
