Maybe it's just me, but I found the wording on this store's customer service sign to be quite odd! "We Can Help You" seems like something you'd see from a mental health service or perhaps one of those weird cult-like religions. Anyway, as you can see here, this store features a post office, another common feature of local grocery stores around here (especially ones in rural areas, which Spokane isn't quite).
Ha, I suppose a joke could be made about the Pacific NW's history of cults/cult-like organizations, especially in the rural parts, but I guess I won't take things that far. Hey, we've had those in Texas as well so it is not like that is solely a rural Pacific NW thing!
ReplyDeleteDoes this store still have a video department outside of Redbox or something like that? It is neat to see a supermarket Post Office! That is more of an Ace Hardware type thing around here. Granted, a lot of rural supermarkets are also an Ace Hardware and a Post Office as well! It is kind of strange how some rural areas have more 'one-stop' shopping than urban areas!
I'm pretty sure the Video sign was just a leftover from the days when this store had an actual video rental department -- if it still had one, I hope I would have noticed it!
DeleteHmm, I'm not sure if I've ever seen an Ace Hardware post office! I'm not surprised, though, since rural post offices are so often located in odd retail businesses. Around here, it's typically grocery stores that have them, though generally they're smaller rural grocery/general stores rather than a (relatively) modern supermarket like this!
The Ace Hardware near me has a pretty big Postal office in it. I have not used it recently, but I have in the past. It is the quickest place for me to get official Postal services near me. Other Ace Hardwares around here have a Postal desk as well, but not all of them.
DeleteAnd, yes, that sign does say 'doohickies' on it, lol. https://maps.app.goo.gl/142E4RGwJKFDFrWf8
