Between the clearance rack and cart piled high with Chobani cartons (I never knew they were a company that employed their own stockers!), you can't see much of the dairy department in this picture. But it's nothing you wouldn't expect from an ex-Grocery Palace store. The height of the sign "shelves" looks much more proportional here than it did in the other store, with the ledge itself a bit lower and the ceilings quite a bit higher.
Like I said with the other store, this dairy case looks very nice! AFB might not be happy with me saying this, but I think this beats the Grocery Palace barn! I didn't know Chobani had their own vendor stocking, but I guess I can't say I'm too surprised about that given the price!
ReplyDeleteUsually when Safeway has such utilitarian looking shelving like that for their clearance section, they try to put the clearance rack in some dark corner of the store like the corridor to the stockroom. More visible clearance displays are usually nicer. Here at this Albertsons, well, not so much!
I'd take real Grocery Palace any day, but you're right that this does look quite nice!
DeleteMost Safeway clearance sections around here have nicer shelving and have it stuck in a hidden corridor! Oh well, maybe this store just had an overflow of clearance stuff (which always seems to be the case at my store for some reason), or perhaps they were starting to prepare for the impending remodel/conversion already.
