Turning around, here's the front of the pharmacy, in the front left corner of the store. Since we've been talking about right-to-left setups recently, it's interesting to note how the aisle markers in health and beauty are in a right-to-left orientation! I do really like the way this area looks, with its shiny-tile pharmacy sign, special aisle and category markers, and LED-lit shelving.

It makes sense for these aisles to be oriented from right-to-left considering how most people will filter in from the salesfloor on the right. That being said, it's odd seeing these aisles numbered (lettered?) considering how Publix, the king of right-to-left numbering, has a similar setup in most larger stores and leaves the aisles unsigned.
ReplyDeleteI suppose, though there is a store entrance directly to the left where people could enter from instead. This aisle lettering seems to be something that's exclusive to Modern -- older Albertsons packages sometimes used standard aisle markers for this sort of thing, but often just left the health and beauty aisles unnumbered.
