Front end

One disadvantage of the pharmacy being right up front in this store is that Modern's two extra-fancy signs are right next to each other! The front end at this store is quite standard, apart from the checkouts being black rather than the Lifestyle beige laminate that most local stores still have. I'm not sure what's up with the different paint color on part of the front wall, awkwardly overlapping with a little bit of the Guest Services shiny tile.

Huh, I wonder what is up with that patch of off-white paint. I'm not sure what to think of it. On the one hand, a little bit of a change of pace makes that sea of white looks a little more interesting. On the other hand, it looks pretty tacky! Oh well, you know my opinion about this store already, lol!

Those woodgrain checkstands are a bit of a questionable thing. While they do match the Modern decor package, they might end up looking highly out of place with newer decor packages down the road so I can see why Safeway went with a solid color. While black isn't the best look, well, it is this store so I guess anything depressing looking is an option, lol.

What's up with that Starbucks cart off in the distance? It looks like an employee is manning the cart? Maybe it is just a shopper, it is hard to tell.

    1. With how Safeway likes to leave their checkouts untouched across remodels, it's probably good that they went with a generic design here. There are even still some stores with Haggen's woodgrain on the checkouts that Safeway never bothered to remove!

I have no idea what the deal is with that Starbucks cart, especially since the products on it appear to have Safeway's standard bakery labels! I'm pretty sure the person behind it was a customer at one of the self checkout stations, but I can't say for sure.
