As I mentioned a while back, this store is definitely nicer than the southern San Clemente location, with higher, open ceilings, a fancier version of the decor, and significantly fewer obvious signs of disrepair (though admittedly, it's hard to have terribly stained ceiling tiles if you don't have ceiling tiles at all!). Unfortunately, though, it appears that aisle 4 lost almost its entire front aisle marker at some point!
We'll have to see how the rest of the store looks, but having been in the Grocery Palace Randalbertsons with Lifestyle v2 a few days ago, I think the the Randalbertsons looks quite a bit more upscale. Both stores have similar colors...or at least had similar colors when this photo was taken so it is a good comparison of this decor package and a fairly standard installation of Lifestyle v2. Also, my local Grocery Palace Krogertsons has similar colors since it has Bountiful. I'd also rate that above what I'm seeing here so far and part of that is because the Krogertsons has a floor in better shape than what I'm seeing here even though the Krogertsons floor is the original Grocery Palace floor from around 2001!
ReplyDeleteBoth the Randalbertsons and Krogertsons have drop ceilings, presumably put in after Albertsons sold those stores off, and I think that helps both of those stores look better than this one. The open ceiling might have been the obvious choice with Grocery Palace's original elements, but with a 'classy' decor package like this, the open ceiling just doesn't work well. Lifestyle v3 probably looks a bit better in this application due to it being a bit brighter. In fact, I've seen a very similar store with Lifestyle v3 in Troutdale, OR at the recently converted Safertsons.
You know my feelings about open versus drop ceilings -- in most cases, I like open ceilings (though the new U District Safeway I posted recently was an obvious exception!), and I particularly like the look of this store with skylights and open ceilings! But Lifestyle v2 is a very classy package, even compared to this fancier version of PF&H. I'm not sure what the deal is with the super worn out floor at this store, though!
