Airy front end

The front end has a real open, airy feel that's so different from the cramped grocery stores I'm used to in the Northwest. The full-width window wall helps too -- this store must have been built right as most chains moved away from large windows in their stores, a move that I'm obviously not a fan of. Interestingly, the register lights are still printed with the Fresh Fare 2.0 font, even the ones on the self checkouts -- at least when it comes to Fred Meyer and QFC, Kroger didn't start numbering their self checkouts until much more recently (2019 to be specific).

  1. Huh, interesting! I wonder why they did that in some regions and not others (at least not until much later!).
