Half-aisle marker

The markers for aisle 1 have to be some of the goofiest-looking ones I've ever seen, with the top pushing through the ceiling tiles and the plaques hung on one side only. This is nowhere near as elegant as Proto-Lifestyle's half aisle markers! I've seen these in other stores with the plaques centered on the top bar, which looks a lot less silly than this, but considering the low ceiling, maybe they would have been better off just not signing the bread department.

  1. Ha, there is a jam on aisle 1, but it isn't the fruit kind! It is the aisle marker hitting the ceiling kind!

Interesting, I've never seen a Safeway aisle marker like that Proto-Lifestyle one. That is strange! Not as strange as this QFC solution, but still strange.

The Houston Hispanic Kroger made the local TV news and they gave it quite a long feature in the news tonight given that Houston's TV stations rarely cover anything having to do with retail news. Kroger is probably a major advertiser on KHOU, lol. Anyway, you might enjoy watching the clip. It is funny to see those Fiesta references in the decor given that one of Kroger's major competitors in Houston, and especially with this store, is Fiesta Mart! 1. I'm pretty sure that sort of half aisle marker was a Proto-Lifestyle exclusive thing. Lifestyle v1's aisle markers were a similar design, but they never used a half-size version, and I don't believe the 80s decor that used nearly identical aisle markers to Proto-Lifestyle did either.
