I guess the baby department does have a proper sign after all; it's just around the corner on the central "vertical" actionway. Across the aisle is the kids' books department, which I'm glad to see is still a thing at Target these days since so many stores are dropping books and physical media.
Huh, Target has a book department in their children's section? Who knew? Admittedly, I don't know much about these departments, but I've never seen anything like this before here! I wonder if this might be a NW thing because I would guess that if the Targets here have children's books, they would be over near electronics where the rest of the books and other media area. I don't know!
ReplyDeleteBack in the late 1980s and 1990s, Target always seemed to have the superior media department to Kmart and Wal-Mart. Target self-distributed their music, and probably other media, while Kmart and Wal-Mart used a 3rd party company, Handleman I think was the company that serviced Kmart and Wal-Mart. These days, however, you better only head to Target or Wal-Mart for best selling albums or else you won't find it in the stores!
Like Retail Retell said, it seems to be a random thing whether they have this or not, and I haven't paid enough attention to say how many stores actually do. It's still a nice touch regardless!
DeleteTarget has been putting kids books in the kids section for a little while now, but only in certain stores it seems. Other ones they are still with the rest of the media. And books are just about the only media Target still sells a non-marginal quantity of these days at its remodeled stores...
