This store was built in 1998, and while it's a bit newer than the Snohomish location we looked at previously, its exterior design is quite similar; it too originally opened as a Top Food and Drug, but for one reason or another, these two stores are completely different on the interior, as we'll see shortly.
This looks promising from the outside, but I'm a bit worried about what the inside looks like! This is certainly a very lush and green exterior though which perhaps is a bit unusual at other NW grocers.
ReplyDeleteBTW, do you know what the story is with this Safeway NorCal decor package? It looks pretty good, whatever it is! It helps that Safeway used a real floor here though. This looks more promising, I think, than Modern. Link: https://patch.com/california/walnutcreek/safeway-celebrate-grand-reopening-remodeled-walnut-creek-store
DeleteThat's Ultra-Premium (which appears to be its official name), which originated with Pavilions before spreading to NorCal Safeways (ones that are even fancier than the ones that are getting Modern Deluxe, I guess), Hawaii, and Jewel-Osco... possibly some other East Coast locations, too. Not Haggen though, unfortunately. It is quite a nice package, and should be appearing on the blog soon-ish!
