I almost completely missed the bakery's upper wall sign, which is not particularly visible with the current endcaps and also isn't all that close to the bakery itself -- instead, it's directly in front of the entrance doors. I suppose there are some bakery displays over here, but it still seems a little strange.
I know that these 'wedding cake' design stores with taller center areas and lower perimeter areas have their share of detractors, but this design was very common here in Houston with some of the fanciest Randall's and Kroger Signature stores. They look a bit strange with modern decor packages, but when they were new and were designed with decor packages that accounted for 'wedding cake' stores, they looked pretty awesome! Anyway, it was pretty neat to see this survivor especially since it has this wooden look which isn't exactly like what we saw here in Houston with grocers who used 'wedding cake' design stores!
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't think QFC's stores with this ceiling design looked all that great even with their original decor package, but this one does look quite nice!
