Nourishing our Neighbors

The far end of the back actionway is home to the dairy walk-in, which (unusually) is home to much more than milk and similar bottled products at this store, including a very large yogurt section. That beat-up (after just a couple years!) concrete base to the case is not a particularly nice look, and apart from the wood accents, this scene wouldn't look out of place at Costco -- not a great comparison for what's supposed to be an upscale grocery store!

Ha, I've been thinking that all along about this store even if Costco does not have purple mood lighting. Really, more than anything, my thoughts have been along the lines of "this looks like a more expensive WinCo!"

Now, while it is obviously nicer than a WinCo, it still does remind me a lot of one. I don't consider that to be a compliment, obviously, lol.

This is based on the cart image here, but especially in that other photo near the orange juice. What's with the carts at this store? They look like shrunken versions of full-sized carts. You'd think they'd be better off with the double decker bascarts that Kroger has, but I guess those don't have child seats. Anyway, carts don't usually grab my attention unless they are really weird like we see here!

    1. Ha, at least this store has a lot more decor than a Costco would!

I'm not sure about those carts -- I think they're just a Raley's thing. I could see them being more ergonomic than normal carts since you don't have to reach down as far to get to stuff in the bottom of the cart -- this isn't Costco where people are likely to pile up stuff and fill up the entire thing!
