Seriously, I'm so tired of cell phone stores plaguing every mall! This place has two T-Mobile stores (this one and one over at the Nordstrom end), two AT&T stores (the exterior-entrance one and a kiosk in the main corridor), the ubiquitous fly-by-night repair kiosk, and an Apple store, though at least there's no Verizon store. I probably shouldn't complain since they're better than a vacant storefront, but it's just a pet peeve of mine... especially since I rarely see customers in any cell phone carrier-branded store.

Ha, there was a time when I enjoyed having phone stores at the mall, but that was back in the landline era! We used to have an AT&T Phone Center store at my local mall in a quiet, low-traffic corridor which had the latest cutting-edge landline phones and phone accessories like video phones and cordless phones with neat features. I remember that we bought a really nice cordless phone from them in around 1993 or so and we used it for probably close to a decade.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if you go back long enough, the mall phone stores were where you leased your landline phones because you didn't have any other way of getting phones. We won't discuss the dark days of mandatory phone leasing though, that was almost as bad as modern cell phone stores!
Yeah, I imagine things were a bit more interesting back then, and even in the early cell phone era. Technology overall is just so much less interesting these days!
