As is typical for Macy's, the jewelry department was home to most of the elaborate decor this store had, though the fitting rooms(?) off to the left had some extra decorations too. It seems Macy's was catering to the last-minute shoppers here, with an overflow of jewelry on the right and an absurd number of purses on the other -- and a decent number of shoppers in both of those departments.
Although the flooring tiles here look more like Sears' 1990s flooring tiles, at least they are in better shape than the shiner tiles Macy's installed at the Almeda Mall Macy's in 2008-9 after the renovations after Hurricane Ike damaged the store in 2008. Those tiles are starting to look quite shabby now thanks to Macy's level of (non) maintenance.

Interesting, I wouldn't really associate this flooring style with Sears -- I feel like practically every department store used this style of tile for a while, and if I were to pick a specific one to think of it would be JCPenney. Then again, I never did spend very much time in real Sears department stores.
DeleteYikes, that's embarrassingly bad! It's sad how much Macy's has let their stores decline over the past few years.
