Office block

Mall developers building connected (or at least adjacent) office buildings seems to have been a trend for a while, and Tacoma Mall still has its one hanging out in the parking lot. Northgate once had one too, but it was demolished long ago to expand the mall itself; I'm not sure if Southcenter ever did. Of course, these days, it's hard to decide which is a more outmoded concept -- malls or office buildings!

On a side note, I'm sure Anonymous in Houston will have something to say about the assortment of cars here... 😉

You're right about me having a comment to say about the cars! It's nice to see sedans and wagons get the better spots instead of the SUVs, but the standout here for sure is the Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable wagon there in the middle. When that generation Taurus/Sable came out in 1996 with the 'bubble' design, Ford quickly realized they had a loser on their hands and they had to give those cars a new body due to the public outcry. In 2000, they had a much more sensible looking sedan, but they kept the old body style, at least in the rear, on the wagons and sold them for about another five years. I still see those every now and then since the mid-2000s ones aren't all that old I suppose, but they look very funny! But, hey, it's still a lot nicer to me than those SUVs next to them which aren't really any bigger even if they may appear otherwise.

    1. Honestly, I've always kind of liked those "bubble" Tauruses, but I'm not surprised they weren't popular -- "experimental" car designs like that rarely seem to be.
