Above the doors from the parking entrance is a large sign stating this store's official name, "Safeway @ mission|place". If anything, this sign is even more early-00s than the one inside, featuring not just the @ but also the | (so computer-y!), along with a very period-correct, all-lowercase font for the building's name. Below that, the original hours sign remains, though with a rather amusing attempt to change the opening time from 5:00 to 6:00 (I'm pretty surprised this store apparently wasn't ever open 24 hours, something Safeway was really pushing around the time it was built), sitting between a pair of unusual bi-folding automatic doors.
