As Anonymous in Houston pointed out yesterday, the part of the store with vinyl flooring looks much more presentable! While I've never been a fan of plain while vinyl, decorative vinyl patterns like this are definitely my favorite retail look. (Real tile can be nice too, but I'm not a fan for practical reasons, at least in grocery stores and others with shopping carts.) The sushi kiosk looks rather abandoned here, though this was a weekend morning so perhaps it just wasn't open at the time; as for the "made with clean ingredients" signs, well, I would sure hope so!
The vinyl floor pattern works well here. The colors on the floor match well with the walls/decor. We still have a few Kroger stores with these Script-era floors and they look good even with Bountiful (mostly) here in our stores. I think it is even more obvious from up high like in this photo, but the floor really adds a lot of pizazz to the store! Certainly the Krogers with these stores have a brighter, less dingy feel than similar stores with concrete floors even with the somewhat aging floor tiles that Kroger doesn't always maintain well.
ReplyDeleteIt really does! Quite a few QFCs with newer decors still have this flooring, and it looks nice with pretty much all of them. It's too bad that they've started removing it in many of their recent remodels, especially since most QFCs are way too old for their concrete slabs to look good as exposed flooring!
