The post-remodel produce department is exactly as it is in pretty much every remodeled Safeway, with this store even receiving Lifestyle-era cases to replace the cheap plastic ones from the Proto-Lifestyle days, rather than the current design with woodgrain that would actually match the Modern decor (even though the flooring was actually updated). As with many remodeled Safeways, the "organic" wall sign doesn't actually fall directly above the organic produce cases, which are closer to the floral section (as is visible two pictures back), though at least it does line up with the organic island here.
It always bugs me when department signs don't line up with the proper department (Winn-Dixie is often guilty of this in older stores where product has shifted over the years). As for this Safeway, I wonder why they didn't plan this out better with it being a freshly-remodeled store!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Safeway seems to treat the "Organic" sign as just decoration, as it hardly ever actually lines up with the organic section of the produce department. I've never understood why they do it that way!
