Unidepartment

At the front of the meat aisle, we find a somewhat strange service department combination -- rather than the fairly common deli-bakery, this store has a meat-deli department. I'm used to stores being designed to keep raw meat separated from other departments as much as possible, but not here! The cases on the left end of the picture, one of which was awkwardly blocked off with a Safeway banner, are combined service/self-service cases identical to the ones the Marina store closest to me had before it was sadly demolished, which is interesting since it's a design I don't think I've seen in any other Safeway.
