The center of the arch

I couldn't resist grabbing another picture of the middle of the Marina roof here, even if the dark grey upper wall (and ceiling edge) diminishes the effect. One oddity that I haven't mentioned yet -- this store lacks any category markers, a big change from typical Safeway decor packages that use them abundantly.

  1. Is it usual for Safeway Marina stores to have such an obvious looking office overlooking the store? Usually stores try to hide offices like that behind a two-way mirror, but not here! The shoppers can clearly see what the employees are up to in the office. That seems a bit weird to me, but it probably shouldn't be given that we have Kroger Signature stores from the early 2000s here in Houston with an open mezzanine of offices overlooking the store!

    1. I wouldn't say it's typical, since Marina Safeways vary greatly in design (unsurprisingly, since the oldest ones are 60 years old now, plenty of time for them to have been remodeled in differing ways), but I don't think it's all that unusual either.
