Unusually for Safeways of this layout, this store has a dedicated lunch meats section with its own oval sub-department sign. Typically, when I see Safeways with angled corner cases like this, they're used for the juice department; I wonder if those were converted from lunch meats sections. (Though the one I've visited by far the most times, in Port Angeles, does have lunch meats in this location and even used to have the Lifestyle v1 version of this oval sign!) In the foreground, I was surprised to see a display of pre-packaged bulk items when I looked back at these photos, as I thought that was a COVID-era thing for Safeway; a lot of Vancouver-era Safeways are actually managed by the Portland Division rather than the Seattle Division that manages all of the others in Washington, so maybe they were doing that earlier. (That's also almost certainly why this store never got a Lifestyle remodel, since the Seattle Division remodeled practically all of their stores quite quickly, which I've always found sad.)
