Aisle 12, with newer magazine shelving

While this is not the original Proto-Lifestyle books and magazines decor, the magazine shelving here (which is from the Lifestyle v2 era) is still a blast from the past in that it's still its original size, not having been shrunk way down like has happened in most other Safeways! I don't remember why exactly, but I remember really not liking this shelving when one of the Port Angeles Safeways was remodeled from Proto-Lifestyle to Lifestyle v2 back when I was in elementary school (perhaps it was just part of my general unhappiness about Proto-Lifestyle going away -- for one reason or another, I really liked this decor when it was present in that store, and being sad about it going away is one of my earliest retail memories), but these days I think it looks quite classy in a way that a grocery store wouldn't bother with for the books and magazines department these days.
