Seating nook

This isn't the best picture, probably because I was surprised to see people actually using the seating area -- but it is probably the last picture I took of a grocery store dining area before the pandemic changed everything for these, seemingly permanently in many cases. Off to the left is the back of the sushi counter, which features built-in bar seating; the large sign makes it look like sushi is a whole department here, but it's basically the same size as the typical grocery store sushi kiosk, just in an unusual spot.

  1. Have the 'Have a Seat' departments not opened up at NW retailers yet? Not all have opened here, and I'm not sure if they ever will again, but a few have for sure. For example, I was just looking at photos of this Austin Randall's earlier today and the store's 'Cafe Seating' area shared with Starbucks is open and seemingly used by customers: https://goo.gl/maps/gAH1Jcbucjm95t5J9

Also note that the Randall's has an in-store dry cleaners: https://goo.gl/maps/HXz9TR4ziy3QEnZeA

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. It's hit and miss, but I believe Fred Meyer has opened some or maybe all of theirs. Safeway largely hasn't, from what I've seen, and some have been permanently converted into online pickup areas or some other function.
