... at the F. G. Meyer Bistro

Naming the prepared foods part of the deli the "Bistro" is, on the other hand, fairly common; however, it certainly wasn't common in the Northwest decor era, and the style of this sign, lacking the big oval used in all of the other service department signs, is also weird. With this being a quite late Northwest remodel, I'm guessing this was an early experiment with that name, which has since become common in various Kroger decor packages. One thing that sadly didn't become common, though, is the "F. G. Meyer" name up top -- this was a fairly common sight in certain departments (mostly the deli) in older Fred Meyer decor packages, but Kroger has largely erased all mentions of the chain's founder from store decor packages ever since they cut off Fred Meyer's unique ones in favor of standard Kroger fare in the 2010s.
