Much more special than it looks

Look carefully along the right side of this picture -- look familiar? Yep, despite the "new" front facade, this is a sister store to the Shoreline Rite Aid, being the cut-down version of the 1957 Tradewell prototype described in more detail in this post. I covered those two stores two years ago, and since that post seemed quite well researched and authoritative -- certainly written by someone with a much stronger history background than I have -- I assumed that was where the story ended, with those two stores remaining out of only four that were ever built (the original and three smaller models). But a few months back, with Street View having been updated throughout the region, I went looking to see which local Rite Aids had or hadn't yet received the new logo (which at the time appeared to be a somewhat reliable indicator of whether the stores were around for the long term or not; oddly, they've since closed several stores that had gotten updated signage just a few months earlier) and stumbled upon this place.
