Penney gable

This is yet another between-levels view, just from the stairs this time rather than an escalator! All three of the anchor tenants in this mall have a big gable above their main entrance, but JCPenney was the only one to really take advantage of it, filling the whole thing with their (honestly kind of ugly) brown stone tiling.

  1. While we do have multi-story malls here in Houston, most of the malls I shop/shopped at are one-story malls. That said, with the two-story malls I'm familiar with, all had the same size signage on the different levels of any given store. Thus, it's really strange seeing that large JCPenney sign on the top story here! I suppose it makes sense to put such a large sign on a large gable like that, but it is a bit strange to me.
