Sadly, the sign-replacement push has led to the demise of the cool neon signs that formerly accented the parking garages of many early-00s-built Seattle Safeways -- I believe my Uptown store is the last one to have those signs. Admittedly, it was always a bit odd that these stores had so much neon -- I don't believe Safeway ever heavily used it in their interiors, and the early 00s don't seem like a time when neon was particularly trendy -- but it's still quite sad to see them go, especially in a city that's seen quite a few cool neon signs disappear in recent years.
