On the other side of the Nordstrom corridor is another empty space, and I have even less of an idea what this could have been. The full-height gate and lack of a counter makes this look like it could have been some sort of retail space, like a newsstand, but I've never heard anything about this station having one, and the space looks awfully tiny on the floor plans I've found for this station.
