Meat and liquor and dairy

My favorite thing about tiny stores like this is the inventive pairings of products in single aisles. Here, aisle 8 is home to the entire meat department, part of the dairy department, and (including an alcove in the back) the entire liquor department. This store has no service departments of any type (it's the only zero-service-department Safeway I've ever visited), so meat is limited to a few self-service refrigerated cases (one of which, quite surprisingly, has doors). The decor and soffit here pushed the aisle marker off center to the left, which looks rather strange with the wine holders on top of the case, and above that, the Marina beams have a strange structural connection that I haven't seen elsewhere (normally, there would be a column where the arched and flat beams connect), emphasizing the strangeness of this particular store.
