The low Paraline ceiling follows the dairy department around the corner onto the left wall of the store (which is called aisle 2 here, since Kroger seems to have some sort of superstition against aisle 1 these days! 😉). Strangely, a large portion of this wall (along with a small section of the back wall) is made up of exposed bare metal, Walmart style -- I've never seen that in a Fred Meyer before. This aisle is also rather awkward with those columns placed close to the soda shelving... I can't imagine this was a recent change since the frozen cases are on the other side of those shelves and don't look new, so I wonder how long this store has had this awkward setup.
