I will say, I'm happy to see that Pacific Place has done a good bit of work to liven up the dead spaces throughout the mall (though it certainly doesn't hide the fact that there are a ton of empty spaces!). This area used to be where there were a ton of doors out to a small drop-off area (with the actual parking garage accessed by elevators to either side). The unfinished ceiling bit makes me think this was intended to be a small tenant space of some sort, perhaps a coffee shop to replace the one on the main level.
