Most of the original store facades on the ground floor were untouched in the remodel, and a decent number of them are filled -- just with non-traditional, low-rent (in a literal sense) tenants. To try to fill out the mall, which was extremely empty when it reopened from a lengthy closure due to the remodel followed by COVID shutdowns, the owners have been offering short-term, low-cost leases to small businesses and artists taking over empty storefronts (though there's still a lot of unused space thanks to spaces that were gutted and never rebuilt). Here's a great article describing the program, as well as a lot more background on Pacific Place's struggles.
