Fresh from the flat fields

The produce decor in this store is much more bland than normal -- generally, the "Fresh from the Fields" text (stolen from Safeway, as I feel compelled to mention every time I show it) is accompanied by rolling hills graphics, but here there's just a single flat stripe (even though the ceiling height doesn't look any lower than in that other store). There are a few high-level windows within the area used for decor, but it seems like there should be plenty of space around them for additional graphics.

  1. I was going to mention the obligatory comment about this signage being shamelessly stolen from Safeway before I saw your comment along the same lines. It looks like you've got this covered, lol.

Here's a random thought about Kroger produce departments. The other day, I was in a Kroger produce department when the produce sprayers came on for their short interval which was joined by the sound recording of a thunderstorm while the sprayers ran. I think I remember Kroger starting this in the 1990s at their newer stores at the time, but I don't know. Do all Kroger/QFC/Fred Meyer stores have the thunderstorm sound accompanying the sprayers these days?

    1. Ha, sounds like we're on the same page!

I remember those things -- Safeway had them too, and I thought they were super cool as a little kid! I haven't been in a store with them working in a very long time, but I'm not surprised that there are some stores where they're still hanging on.

    1. This is the only store I've yet seen without the graphics, thankfully.

    2. Oops. I meant that as a reply to the comment about the thunder noises.
