Thousands of DVDs... out of stock

I've seen plenty of Barnes & Nobles like this one, but this store has something that I don't remember seeing previously -- a full-size music and movies department, complete with some very nice green faux stone tiles on the walls. Barnes & Nobles tend to have rather bland, neutral walls, so this is a nice departure from the norm! Sadly, the whole section seemed to have been emptied out by the time of my visit, with the fixtures inside in disarray.

  1. The green faux stone is something different, but yeah, those Movie and Music departments are certainly not unheard of around here. Back in the day, they would have had listening stations with headphones where could could scan a CD barcode and hear it playback through the headphones. That's going back a ways though!

Here's the West University Place Barnes & Noble in Houston for a comparison. This is a store which had a large selection of CDs up until a few years ago. They still have some, but there really isn't much there now. It's mostly LPs now. Also note the Randall's next door for a random taste of Safeway: https://goo.gl/maps/bYXF2SvpWsj42EuaA

    1. Yeah, they're probably more common than I realize around here too. It's too bad (though also not surprising) that Barnes & Noble seems to have just given up on these departments lately.
