Thanks For Shopping [Fred Meyer]

Turning back towards the entryway, we can see Artisan's various exit signage. The "thanks for shopping" sign looks pretty nice... until you get to the "Fred Meyer" part, which is awkwardly shoved into a white rectangle. I suspect this sign was designed with the old(?) Kroger logo in mind, with its built-in oval background; when the designers got to the Fred Meyer (non-)logo, it feels like they just gave up and stuck on a plain white rectangle. Up above the entrance is the "Mill Creek" sign -- this is normally one of my favorite parts of Artisan, with its nice geometric background, but the execution here failed it, since it's stuck all the way above the window wall (and even partially above the light fixtures).

  1. I hate to burst your bubble, but in Kroger, they didn't use the oval -- they actually used cut out letters, just like the other ones on the sign ledge. Literally no excuse why Fred Meyer couldn't have done the same, sadly :/
