Continuing to pivot to the left, here's a view towards the right-side entryway. To the left is the floral department, with the Northwest-era/Bountiful-styled hanging sign still in place (in front of some awful decor, but we'll get to that shortly); on the right, the empty space is the former Chase Bank, which closed around the same time as (but seemingly not connected to) the remodel.
The Northwest/Bountiful flowers sign is really interesting! So is the fact that they used a rectangular panel for the Fred Meyer logo on the thanks for shopping sign rather than individual cutout letters, but that's less of a"fun" interesting and more of a "curious" one :P And concerning the décor on the wall for the floral department, I agree... that's not pretty!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it is odd, but something that's completely standard for Northwest. Which is odd, come to think of it, since I had always assumed Northwest came before Bountiful -- I guess not! (They probably rolled out around the same time, but Bountiful was used for much longer.)
DeleteAnd yet again, you're a few steps ahead of me! 😃 Yeah, that sign is certainly an interesting choice...
