One big criticism of Fry's back in the day was their rather frustrating return policies (written or unwritten). While a lot of stores have moved towards having more generous return policies these days, it doesn't appear that Fry's had any interest in that. Every single air conditioner in the store (and there were a ton of them) had one of these notes taped to the box, telling people just how difficult Fry's intended to make it to return the air conditioner. I can't imagine policies like this helped them attract customers at a time when they already weren't doing too great... Also, I have to wonder how the initial U managed to be in a different font from the whole rest of the tag!
