Unsurprisingly, one of the changes in the remodel was the replacement of the outdated (and extremely faded) building signs with new ones. It's slightly sad to see the old logo going away, but it wasn't much less boring. I kind of wish Fred Meyer would get an actual logo at some point, but I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon, especially after Kroger spent a bunch of money on their own (rather boring) rebrand.
There's something about the colors here which gives off a Safeway Lifestyle vibe. Maybe that's just me though. I'm also not complaining about that. It looks very earthy and Northwestern I suppose!
ReplyDeleteSince you're introducing a Kroger here, I found something Kroger that's a bit odd. It's from Retail Retell's part of world (well, kind of) so maybe he knows how common this is. I looked at a Greenhouse Kroger in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I've been to Hot Springs many years ago, but I don't think I went to this Kroger even though I probably did see it from the outside. Anyway, I can't say I've ever seen a 'Have a Seat' department at a Kroger before, lol. Also, the 's' doesn't look very well seated, does it?!

Why yes, yes I have -- in this exact store! 😃 That name has been used for the cafe seating area in most Kroger decor packages newer than Bountiful, though I'm not sure if I've seen it in an actual Bountiful store in person (since QFCs tend to be too small for a dedicated seating area). I've certainly seen it in Banner and Artisan stores, however!
DeleteWow, I suppose the Houston Division thought that signage was too corny to use because I'm pretty sure that I've never seen it before at our Krogers! I mean, I'm sure I'd remember that if I saw it. I don't know, I'll have to check this out! Of course, a lot of our Krogers really don't have much in terms of seating. Seating is more of a Randall's/Safeway thing around here, lol, but we do have some Krogers which still have sitting areas.
