Spinning around the other way, we see the deli, at the front of the service department wall. The large structure projecting out of the wall holding the deli sign is a rather impressive design element, especially from this distance!
I dislike that Oxford, which is entirely new construction on the grand aisle side, nonetheless sprung for much cheaper versions of those signs, without the projecting elements.
I was thinking that would be an obvious place for Kroger to cheapen the decor (as they love to do), but I didn't realize they were doing that already! I didn't want to say it so as not to give anyone any ideas, but clearly we're way too late for that 😉
