Shiny lobby

Stepping out of the elevators, this is what you see -- what looks like an alternate-dimension version of this store! This space was completely new (not something you get to say about a department store often these days!), modern, clean, and shiny -- oh, and there's nary a store closing sign in sight (at least in this view)! I really like the Macy's star inset into the floor, too. While this space obviously dates to the mid-2010s downsizing, the upper floor was remodeled at that point too and it doesn't look this shiny and new -- I suspect the main reason for this area to be the way it is is that it saw very minimal foot traffic -- in all of the times I was up here, I never saw another person apart from the security guards. It seems like Macy's put a lot of work into keeping this skybridge connection to a parking garage that isn't even affiliated with the store any more for extremely little benefit.
