Looking back the other way, we see that yes, there was at least one set of store closing signs here (nicely reflected in the perfectly-polished flooring), and also that on this level they did cut off the elevator lobby. However, the doors to one non-operational elevator were still left in place for some reason, again not fooling anyone since in this case the entire up/down light unit was missing, with a hole left in its place! Of course, they only really need down indicators at this point, but I can't imagine replacing those was high on anyone's priority list.
