Heading up to 6

Another odd thing about these elevators that you might have noticed in that last picture is that they are actually controlled as two independent banks of two elevators, rather than one bank of four. That's because only two of them go up to the skybridge level, for some reason (meaning there are even more unused elevator shafts above level 2). That means that if you're just trying to go between the three floors of the main store, you either have to gamble on which set of elevators will get you one first, or push both buttons and have two elevators come to the floor you're on. Of course, I doubt the elevators were used enough for it to matter much most of the time, but still, it seems like there would still be a better way to do that.

Oh, and with all of that ranting about elevators, I haven't even talked about this picture yet! Surprisingly enough, when these two elevators were changed to only visit the four remaining floors, the button for the 6th floor was left in its original place! I suppose that would have made matters slightly easier for the elevator contractor, but it looks rather weird. Maybe they just didn't want to replace the metal surround, with its engraved "Skybridge" text (though they would have had to replace it in the other two elevators, since they don't serve the skybridge level!).
