One thing that I did enjoy was the hoofprint "this way to Santa" path. Strangely, though, it led from the elevators, which pretty much no one seemed to use, rather than the escalators -- I mean, it's only one floor, and what kid doesn't like escalators? (I still love them today! 😉) Perhaps this is another leftover from days past when Santaland was on a higher floor in the store.
