Sea of sofas

While this store's furniture section isn't as expansive as it is elsewhere, it's certainly packed! Some of the stuff they had looks pretty nice, too, though I'd be curious what the build quality is like. (I've looked at Big Lots furniture, as have my parents, but we've never actually bought any.)

  1. Big Lots furniture isn't that bad, at least as far as the upholstered stuff and mattresses are concerned. The Broyhill furniture (even though its made by the same people who make the rest of Big Lots upholstered stuff) is actually a step up from the cheaper stuff, and is pretty nice. The Ashley furniture Big Lots sells is the same you'd find at an Ashley store too, and the mattresses are all Sealy brand (my sister had a Big Lots mattress, and has no complaints). Overall, for cheap furniture, it's not bad. The wooden stuff is cheap particle board junk though - I much prefer to buy used hardwood pieces from the thrift store as far as that's concerned!

    1. Good to know! I think the issue we've had with Big Lots is that they don't deliver (or maybe they just charge a lot for delivery, I don't remember), which is a big challenge for my family. I agree about avoiding particle board stuff -- most of my furniture is fancier Ikea stuff which is about the only affordable solid wood furniture I can find!
